Locally Grown

Well, my trip to SF was a complete success! I spent the 10 days teaching yoga at the SF yoga conference, going up to wine country, seeing friends, visiting schools, eating at my favorite restaurants and finally, doing a teacher training. It was a whirlwind but I think I got it all in. I sold tons of my Full Of Joy Yoga Kids photobooks as well. If you haven't gotten your copy, you should buy one! I heard the kids love it!

Now I'm settling in to a whole new kids yoga world here in CT. I am starting to teach at different schools and play spaces and even the JCC! Its pretty exciting, trying to get this out there for a whole new group of parents and kids. It seems to be working out really well and I'm meeting a lot of great families in the process.

One thing that has surprised my husband and me about this new state we're living in is how eco-conscious and green it is. There is a fabulous farmer's market here that is weekly in 4 towns through the growing season, and monthly during the winter right here in New Haven. We are planning on volunteering for CitySeed - the people who put together these farmer's markets, and are very excited to become a part of this locally grown phenomenon that is taking place. I am very conscious of the food I put in my body and knowing that I can buy fresh fruits and veggies, seafood, cheese, honey and a whole lot of other goodies that have traveled minimal miles to reach me, just gives me such a sense of joy and excitement, I almost can't contain.
